Sea Container Permit
Sea Container Permits are available for 4-axle tractor and 3-axle trailer configuration transporting intermodal cargo containers within the vicinity of the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach as follow:
On the 2.9-mile portion of State Route 47 and State Route 103 known as the Terminal Island Freeway, between State Highway Route 1 in the City of Long Beach and Ocean Boulevard in the City of Long Beach, and on the 2.4-mile portion of State Highway Route 1, that is between Sanford Avenue in the City of Los Angeles and Harbor Avenue in the City of Long Beach.

Weight: Maximum Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) 95,000 pounds. See Section 202.2 in the Transportation Permit Manual.
For the City of Long Beach Overweight Corridor Map:
Sea Container permits are valid for one (1) year and must be renewed prior to expiration to avoid a lapse in validity. Please allow a minimum of fourteen (14) business days for processing sea container permits. Renewals may be submitted up to sixty (60) days prior to permit expiration.
