California Freight Advisory Committee

California Freight Advisory Committee (CFAC)

History and Formation

In 2013, Caltrans established the California Freight Advisory Committee (CFAC) in collaboration with the California Transportation Agency (CalSTA). The CFAC is a charter member advisory body representing public and private sector freight stakeholders, including representatives of ports, shippers, carriers, freight-related associations, the freight industry workforce, the transportation department of the State, and local governments.

The CFAC charter outlines the framework of the California Freight Advisory Committee as developed and approved by the members of CFAC.

Description

The CFAC meets virtually on an as-needed basis between two and four times per year to participate in the development of the California Freight Mobility Plan (CFMP) and to advise the State on freight-related priorities, issues, projects, and funding needs.
