Transportation Systems Management and Operations

  

This website was developed by Caltrans as a resource for Caltrans Headquarters, District Offices, regional and local partners as they consider planning and deploying Transportation System Management and Operations (TSMO) strategies to better manage existing infrastructures more efficiently. TSMO strategies support the new Caltrans’ Mission, “Provide a safe, integrated and efficient transportation system to enhance California’s economy and livability” and Vision “A performance-driven, transparent and accountable organization that values its people, resources and partners, and meets new challenges through leadership, innovation and teamwork”. TSMO strategies promote system performance especially with respect to reduced delay, and improved travel time reliability.
