Office of Transit Grants and Contracts
The Office of Transit Grants and Contracts (OTGC) Is comprised of programs dedicated in identifying and awarding both federal and state funding to transit agencies responsible for administering and managing transit services in California from large metropolitan cities to small urban and rural areas.
The OTGC administers these funds to eligible recipients which include public entities and private nonprofit organizations engaged in public transportation.
The OTGC provides capital funding to replace, rehabilitate, and maintain existing vehicles, equipment, and related transit infrastructure necessary in sustaining an agency’s fleet and service operations while also supporting new or expanded bus or rail services, intermodal transit facilities, equipment acquisition, fueling, maintenance, and other costs to operate those services or facilities.
In addition, OTGC provides funding to efforts dedicated to the improvement of mobility in disadvantaged communities and of seniors and individuals with disabilities by removing barriers to transportation services and expanding the transportation mobility options made available while continuing to identify and implement policies and technologies that support the state’s commitment in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants.
