Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) Efforts
ZEV Efforts Overview
The Office of Federal Transit Grants and Contracts aids transit operators with their transition to zero-emission technology. Notable efforts include:
- The Zero Emission Transit Bus Deployment Toolkit provides the public and transit agencies with a clear, accessible overview of the steps involved in transitioning to cleaner transportation. Concepts covered include planning, funding, infrastructure needs, and key differences between battery electric and fuel cell electric buses. The toolkit is designed to educate the public and guide technology adopters through the process of moving toward zero emission transit.
- Overseeing a hydrogen framework and zero-emission toolkit contract.
- Effort will look at ways to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen fuels, while providing transit operators with a toolkit that compares the benefits and challenges between battery electric and hydrogen.
- Zero-Emission Transit Deployment Toolkit
- Participating in various interagency and intra-agency transit zero-emission efforts.
- Conduct a bi-monthly zero-emission transit interagency meeting with Go-Biz, ARB, and CEC.
- Administering the two-hydrogen fueling station pilot projects.
- Sunline Transit Agency
- Contra Costa 680 Corridor
