FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOS ANGELES - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is inviting Housing-Related Entities (HREs) to purchase Caltrans-owned homes along the State Route 710 corridor in Pasadena, South Pasadena and the El Sereno neighborhood in Los Angeles for the purpose of affordable housing.

Caltrans encourages interested HREs to email SR710@dot.ca.gov and include the following details:

·      Organization name

·      Address

·      Email address

·      Qualifications

Qualifications should include the HRE’s mission statement, experience in providing affordable housing, the number of affordable housing units in their portfolio, the experience of the management team and the HRE’s reputation as a provider of affordable housing.

Caltrans encourages HREs to submit their information for approval by May 30, 2025, before the expected release date of the available properties, which is anticipated in early summer. Upon approval, HREs will be notified and placed on a registry for property bid requests. The registry status will be valid for three years.

Caltrans is also in the process of selling occupied rentals to current tenants via the Roberti Act, which dictates the order of sales for properties on the corridor. Every tenant living in a single-family residence on the corridor has received a Notice of Solicitation to purchase their rental.
