Buy America

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) requires all iron and steel materials to comply with Buy America requirements on both federally funded or state-funded projects. Caltrans also requires that manufactured products and construction materials comply with Buy America requirements when used in federally funded projects or in state-funded projects that are carried out under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents. All Buy America requirements must be conducted under Caltrans policies and procedures, and applicable federal laws and regulations.
