Caltrans Announces a 12-Hour Overnight Closure of Topanga Canyon Boulevard from PCH to Grand View Drive Saturday Night

The stretch of highway will close at 10 p.m. Saturday for crews to restore damaged pavement in Palisades Fire Recovery Work Zone

LOS ANGELES – Caltrans crews will close the 3.6-mile stretch of Topanga Canyon Boulevard/State Route 27 (SR-27) between Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and Grand View Drive starting at 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, to 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, for crews to complete pavement restoration work in the one-lane traffic control section.

During this time, crews will rehabilitate the pavement that has been damaged due to construction work, excavation and drilling and restore it to a smooth, even surface.

This section of SR-27 is an active work zone for ongoing recovery efforts from the Palisades Fire and 2025 winter storms.

At 10 a.m. Sunday, it will reopen to its previous conditions, which include:

  • A one-lane traffic control section from roughly postmiles 2.5 to 2.8 that operates from 5 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. daily
  • One-lane traffic control from just north of the Topanga Library to Happy Trail for Southern California Edison trenching work that operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays
  • One-lane traffic control for SCE electrical work from Highvale Trail to Happy Trail, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights
  • A full closure of SR-27 from PCH to Grand View Drive between midnight and 5 a.m. daily
