The quarter-mile lane closure will occur during off-peak travel hours
TOPANGA – Daily weekday one-lane traffic controls will begin Tuesday, May 26, in the Palisades Fire recovery work zone on Topanga Canyon Boulevard/State Route 27 (SR-27), approximately 3 miles north of Pacific Coast Highway.
One-lane traffic control with flaggers directing traffic will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at mile marker 2.7 on SR-27. The one-lane section is roughly a quarter mile. This work is expected to last as long as four weeks.
During this time, crews will be working on slope restoration as well as installing a drain to divert water behind the new retaining wall at mile marker 2.7. Motorists may also notice a spider excavator behind the k-rail.
SR-27 from Pacific Coast Highway to Grand View Drive remains an active work zone to complete recovery work from the 2025 Palisades Fire and subsequent storms. The majority of the work is expected to wrap up this summer.
Motorists are advised to be alert and remain focused on the road while driving through this stretch of SR-27 to avoid additional delays. Take extra caution while driving, especially around blind curves, in case of stalled traffic. Fines can be doubled in a work zone.
Check current traffic conditions on the Caltrans Quickmap.
