TOPANGA – Motorists should expect intermittent traffic stops between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday in the Caltrans work zone on Topanga Canyon Boulevard/State Route 27 (SR-27), about 2.7 miles north of Pacific Coast Highway.
Traffic control flaggers at mile marker 2.7 will briefly stop traffic in both lanes of travel for roughly 5-10 minutes at a time. These are expected to happen multiple times between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews briefly enter and exit the highway to complete k-rail maintenance.
Intermittent closures for this work are expected to wrap up by the weekend at the latest. All recovery work on the retaining wall will continue to be done behind k-rail and away from traffic.
SR-27 from Pacific Coast Highway to Grand View Drive remains an active work zone and is closed between midnight and 5 a.m. daily for Verizon crews to underground wires.
Motorists are advised to be alert and remain focused on the road while driving through this stretch of SR-27 to avoid additional delays. Take extra caution while driving, especially around blind curves in case of stalled traffic. Fines can be doubled in a work zone.
Check current traffic conditions on the Caltrans Quickmap.
