Los Angeles— Caltrans is planning overnight connector and lane closures along State Route 91 (SR-91) from Cerritos to Gardena in Los Angeles County, starting Monday Dec. 8 through Saturday Dec. 13, for k-rail installation for a sign rehabilitation project.
Westbound SR-91 will be reduced to four lanes overnight between Interstate 605 (I-605) in Cerritos and Vermont Avenue in Gardena. Eastbound SR-91 will be reduced to two lanes overnight from Vermont Avenue in Gardena to Interstate 710 (I-710) and I-605 in Cerritos, to the Orange County line at postmile (PM) 20.7. Eastbound SR-91 will be reduced to three lanes overnight between I-710 and I-605.
There will be overnight full closures of I-605 and Interstate 110 (I-110) connectors to SR-91, and Eastbound SR-91 connectors to I-605 and I-110.

Westbound SR-91
- Closure of three right lanes on westbound SR-91 from Atlantic Avenue to Vermont Avenue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily
- Closure of two right lanes on westbound SR-91 from I-605 to Atlantic Avenue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily
- Westbound SR-91 connector to northbound I-110 will be fully closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily
- Westbound SR-91 connector to southbound I-110 will be fully closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily
- Closure of westbound SR-91 on-ramp at Main Street from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily

Message signs will be placed along detour routes to direct traffic. Caltrans encourages motorists to allow extra travel time and to drive with caution in the area.

This project will rehabilitate and upgrade roadside and overhead enhance signs and lighting, restore highway planting, replace guardrail, and make worker safety improvements along 14.7 miles of SR-91 in Los Angeles County. The cost of the project is $34 million. Construction is expected to complete in summer 2029. The contractor is Security Paving Company, Inc.
