Daytime Lane Closures on Rosemead Boulevard at State Route 60 for Maintenance Operations

SOUTH EL MONTE Caltrans announces daytime closures along Rosemead Boulevard (State Route 164) at State Route 60 (SR-60), adjacent the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, on Wednesday, June 10 through Friday, June 12 in the city of South El Monte. These closures will allow maintenance crews to safely perform pavement preservation operations, including crack sealing, landscaping, fencing, and litter removal.

The daytime closures along Rosemead Boulevard will occur at SR-60, limiting access in the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10 through Friday, June 12 at the following:  

Wednesday, June 10:

  • Two lanes of southbound Rosemead Boulevard and shoulder will be closed
  • Two lanes of northbound Rosemead Boulevard will be closed
  • Southbound Rosemead Boulevard to the westbound SR-60 on-ramp will be closed
  • Southbound Rosemead to eastbound SR-60 on-ramp will be closed
  • Westbound SR-60 Rosemead Boulevard south off ramp will be closed
  • Eastbound SR-60 Rosemead Boulevard north off-ramp will be closed

Thursday, June 11:

  • Northbound Rosemead Boulevard lanes within will be fully closed. Both directions of traffic will be accommodated on the southbound lanes.
  • Westbound SR-60 Rosemead Boulevard south off-ramp will be closed
  • Northbound Rosemead Boulevard to SR-60 on-ramps will be closed
  • Eastbound SR-60 to Rosemead Boulevard north off-ramp will be closed

Friday, June 12:

  • Two lanes of southbound Rosemead Boulevard will be closed
  • Two lanes of northbound Rosemead Boulevard will be closed
  • Westbound SR-60 to Rosemead Boulevard off-ramps will be closed
  • Eastbound SR-60 Rosemead Boulevard north off-ramp will be closed
  • Northbound Rosemead Boulevard to west and eastbound SR-60 on-ramp will be closed

Motorists traveling should expect delays and are advised to slow down and use caution when traveling through the work zone. All closures are subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.
