Daytime Ramp Closures Planned for Special Events July 4-5 in Los Angeles in Exposition Park, Downtown L.A., East L.A., and San Fernando Valley

Routes impacted: Interstate 110 in Exposition Park; U.S. 101 in Downtown L.A.; State Route 60, Interstate 710 and Interstate 5 in East L.A. and Commerce; Interstate 5, State Route 118 and Interstate 210 in San Fernando and Lake View Terrace.

LOS ANGELES ― Caltrans, in coordination with California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), announces daytime ramp closures taking place on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5 for special events taking place across Los Angeles in Exposition Park, Downtown L.A., East L.A., and San Fernando Valley.

America250 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum takes place on Saturday, July 4 with activities from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and includes a festival, concert, and fireworks and drone show. Ramp closures will be on northbound and southbound Interstate (I-110) in the Exposition Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The World Cup match between Mexico and England in Mexico City on Sunday, July 5, is expected to kickoff at 5 p.m. local time with watch parties across Los Angeles, including the Fan Zone at Hansen Dam Lake in Lake View Terrace with activities from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Ramp closures will be on U.S. 101 in Downtown L.A.; State Route 60 (SR-60), Interstate 710 (I-710) and Interstate 5 (I-5) in East L.A. and Commerce; and I-5, State Route 118 (SR-118) and Interstate 210 (I-210) in San Fernando and Lake View Terrace.

Caltrans encourages motorists to plan ahead, watch for detour signs, and allow for extra travel time.

Saturday, July 4

Exposition Park

  • Southbound I-110 Exposition Boulevard off-ramp
  • Northbound I-110 Express Lanes 39th Street off-ramp
  • Southbound I-110 Express Lanes 39th Street on-ramp

Sunday, July 5

Downtown L.A. from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Northbound U.S.101 Los Angeles Street on-ramp
  • Northbound U.S.101 Spring Street off-ramp

East L.A. and Commerce from 6 p.m.to 11 p.m.

  • Eastbound SR-60 Atlantic Boulevard on- and off-ramps
  • Westbound SR-60 Atlantic Boulevard on- and off-ramps
  • Northbound I-710 Olympic Boulevard on- and off-ramps
  • Southbound I-710 Olympic Boulevard / Whittier Boulevard on- and off-ramps
  • Southbound I-5 Triggs Street on- and off-ramps
  • Southbound I-5 Eastern Avenue on- and off-ramps
  • Northbound I-5 to Atlantic Boulevard North on- and off-ramps
