SUN VALLEY — Caltrans is planning overnight lane closures on southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) in Sun Valley and overnight street closures on Sheldon Street, starting Monday April 6 through Friday April 10, for bridge repair work on Sheldon Street Overcrossing.
Westbound Sheldon Street will be reduced to one lane overnight between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Remick Avenue.
The closures are subject to change and are scheduled as follows:
Monday night, April 6 through Thursday morning, April 9:
Southbound I-5
- Up to three lanes will be closed on southbound I-5 from Branford Street to Sheldon Street/Laurel Canyon Boulevard starting as early as 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
- Branford Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed as early as 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Sheldon Street
- One westbound lane of Sheldon Street will be closed overnight between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Remick Avenue starting as early as 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Friday night, April 10 through Saturday morning, April 11
Southbound I-5
- Up to three lanes will be closed on southbound I-5 from Branford Street to Sheldon Street/Laurel Canyon Boulevard starting as early as 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
- Branford Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed as early as 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Sheldon Street
- One westbound lane of Sheldon Street will be closed overnight between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Remick Avenue starting as early as 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Caltrans encourages motorists to allow extra travel time and to drive with caution in the area.
Due to weather or operational reasons, the schedule is subject to change including the times and dates, the number of closures and other details. This work is part of $1.7 million bridge repair project to address damages to the southbound side of Sheldon Street Overcrossing. The contractor is Interstate Civil Construction.
