LOS ANGELES — Caltrans announces extended weekend lane reductions along northbound Interstate 405 (I-405) through the Sepulveda Pass. Northbound I-405 will be reduced to two or three lanes depending on the weekend and motorists are strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes and explore public transportation options to reach their destinations. Southbound I-405 will not be impacted by lane reductions.
Commuters can expect extended weekend lane reductions on the following:

10 p.m. Friday, May 1, through 5 a.m. Monday, May 4

10 p.m. Friday, May 15, through 5 a.m. Monday, May 18

10 p.m. Friday, May 29 through 5 a.m. Monday, June 1
Motorists traveling along I-405 will experience the following lane reductions, ramp and connector closures:
Northbound I-405: May 15-18

Reduced to two lanes between Burbank Boulevard and Victory Boulevard

Northbound I-405 off-ramp to Victory Boulevard closed

Burbank Boulevard on-and-off-ramps to northbound I-405 closed

Northbound U.S. 101 connector to northbound I-405 closed

Northbound I-405 off-ramp to Getty Center Drive closed
Detour Route: May 15-18

Northbound U.S. 101 to northbound I-405: Exit at Sepulveda Boulevard off-ramp and head north on Sepulveda Boulevard. Head west on Victory Boulevard to the on-ramp to northbound I-405.
Northbound I-405: May 29 - June 1

Reduced to three lanes between Mulholland Drive to U.S. 101

Northbound I-405 off-ramp to Getty Center Drive closed
Due to weather or operational reasons, the schedule is subject to change including the times and dates of closures, the number of lanes closed and other details.

This work is part of the I-405 Pavement Rehabilitation Project between the Los Angeles communities of Van Nuys and Westwood along the Sepulveda Pass. This project will apply about $143.7 million toward improving the safety and mobility along I-405 between Van Nuys and Westwood as well as extend the pavement life.
