La Cañada Flintridge - Caltrans announces a 30-hour weekend closure of the northbound State Route 2 (SR-2) to eastbound Interstate 210 (I-210) connector and the northbound SR-2 Verdugo Boulevard off-ramp while crews replace a culvert.
The closures will take place on the following dates and times:
- Saturday, August 9: 11:00 p.m. through Monday, August 10, at 5:00 a.m.
Motorists are advised to use the following detour route during the closure (image below):
- Continue north on SR-2
- Exit at the Foothill Blvd off-ramp
- Travel east on Foothill Blvd
- Turn north on Angeles Crest Highway
- Enter eastbound I-210 via the on-ramp
Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Residents and businesses located near construction may experience noise, vibrations, and dust associated with construction activities. This work is a part of a $7.5 million project to improve drainage and roadway safety by replacing culverts, installing larger drainage structures, and restoring the roadway and surrounding environment. These improvements will help reduce flooding, enhance environmental protection, and extend the lifespan of the highway infrastructure.
