Thumbelina Pedestrian and Bike Gap Closure
Project Description
This project would provide proactive mode separation for vehicles, bikes, and pedestrians. The proposed safety improvements include extending the westbound travel lane, bike lane, and sidewalk. Caltrans is partnering with the city of Buellton who will be performing landscaping and extending a decorative wall to compliment this project.

- The purpose and need of this project is to facilitate gap closure and proactively provide mode separation for bike and pedestrian facilities west of Thumbelina Drive on SR 246 per the Safe Systems Approach.
