Overnight Ramp Preservation Projects Along US 101 and Highway 1 in Monterey County to Result in Ramp Closures

OVERNIGHT RAMP PRESERVATION PROJECTS ALONG US 101 AND HIGHWAY 1 IN MONTEREY COUNTY TO RESULT IN RAMP CLOSURES

MONTEREY COUNTY — A project to upgrade existing ramp locations along US 101 and Highway 1 in Monterey County is set to begin Sunday, August 30 and last through late September.

Travelers will encounter overnight ramp and intermittent lane closures heading both north and southbound on US 101 and Highway 1 from 7 pm to 6 am.

Ramp closures and intermittent lane closures are as follows:

US 101 North/Southbound ramps in Greenfield include:

Walnut Avenue Offramps

Livingston Rd./ El Camino Real Offramps

US 101 North/Southbound ramps in Soledad include:

Arroyo Seco Road

North/ Southbound to State Route 146

US 101 Salinas ramps include:

Northbound offramp to Abbott Street

Northbound offramp to Roy Diaz St./De La Torre

North/Southbound offramp to Kern St./Market St.

Southbound offramp to Airport Blvd.

Southbound offramp to Sanborn Ave.

North/Southbound offramp to N. Main St./SR 183

Monterey (Highway 1) Ramps include:

North SR 1 to N Freemont St.

North/Southbound SR 1 to SR 68 East connector ramp

SR 68 to N Freemont St.

These ramp preservation operations are to extend the service life of the existing pavement by providing skid resistance, restricting moisture, and restoring a uniform surface with pavement delineation.

Electronic message signs will alert travelers ahead of the work and lane closures. Please use caution when traveling through the work area, be aware of flaggers and all highway workers within this work zone and allow additional travel time. Drivers can expect delays between 10-15 minutes.

The contractor for this project is CalRise Builder, Inc. of La Verne, CA. This project is expected to be completed by Sept. 4.
