TRAFFIC CONTROL ON US 101 FOR VEGETATION CONTROL WORK
SET TO BEGIN MONDAY, AUGUST 10

MONTEREY COUNTY —Caltrans will begin a vegetation control project in Monterey County along US 101 beginning Monday, August 10.

Crews will be removing vegetation and brush from the shoulder of northbound and southbound along an 8-mile segment of US 101 starting south of San Ardo to Jolon Road.

Travelers can expect intermittent shoulder and single lane closures Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. Drivers can expect no delays.

This project is in support of California’s Wildfire and Forest Resilience Action Plan to manage vegetation and mitigate wildfire risk along the state highway system. Crews are removing on average between 8,000 and 10,000 lbs. of dense brush daily. This portion of the project is expected to be completed by August 21.

The contractor for this $330,000 fuel reduction plan is Burn Bot, Inc. of South San Francisco, CA.
