EMERGENCY UTILITY REPAIRS ON SOUTHBOUND HIGHWAY 9
IN FELTON TO CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING JUNE 5
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY — Utility crews continue to advance emergency repairs to conduit infrastructure which has resulted in a closure of the right-hand turn lane on southbound Hwy. 9 at Felton Empire Rd./Graham Hill Rd. in Felton.
Utility crews discovered damaged infrastructure on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 4, and have worked continuously to make progress on these repairs.
Crews now estimate that the emergency repairs and the closure of the right-hand lane of southbound Hwy. 9 at Graham Hill Rd. will be in effect until the morning of Friday, June 5.
Throughout these repairs, drivers will still be able to turn right onto Felton Empire Rd.
Caltrans is working closely with the utility company to identify and implement strategies that will help alleviate traffic congestion through the area, particularly as several community events are expected to draw additional visitors to the San Lorenzo Valley over the coming days.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time for their commute, consider alternate routes when possible, and remain alert while traveling through the work zone.
Caltrans thanks the public for its patience and cooperation while these necessary emergency repairs are completed.
