EMBANKMENT REPAIR WORK ON HIGHWAY 1
SOUTH OF CASTROVILLE SET TO BEGIN SUNDAY, MAY 10

MONTEREY COUNTY —Travelers on northbound Highway 1 just south of Castroville will encounter intermittent ramp, shoulder and lane closures beginning the week of Sunday, May 10.

Travelers on Highway 1 just north of Nashua Road will encounter an overnight closure of the right northbound lane and a closure of the Nashua Rd. onramp Sunday, May 10 from 7 pm to 7 am.

Following this overnight closure travelers will encounter a full closure of the shoulder near Nashua Rd from 7 am to 7 pm as crews perform embankment repairs and clear debris from the nearby recreational trail. The repairs are expected to be completed by June.

Travelers can expect up to 10-minute delays. Message and directional signs will alert travelers in advance of the closure.

In addition to the ramp, lane and shoulder closures, there will be restricted access to the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail between Nashua Road and Haro Street.
