TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM INSTALLATION ON HIGHWAY 1
NEAR PFEIFFER CANYON BRIDGE SET TO BEGIN WEDNESDAY, MAY 27

MONTEREY COUNTY — Travelers on Highway 1 near the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge will encounter intermittent lane closures starting Wednesday, May 27.

Intermittent lane closures with flaggers will occur approximately 1.1 miles south of the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge at Post Mile 44 starting Wednesday, May 27 through Sunday, May 31 to support the temporary signal installation.

Travelers can expect delays of up to ten minutes. Please allow for extra time during your commute through the area.

The temporary signal will support construction to replace the Coastlands II retaining wall. This project is essential to stabilizing the slope, improving drainage, and strengthening the long-term resiliency of the roadway.
