FULL OVERNIGHT CLOSURE OF HIGHWAY 41
SET FOR THURSDAY, MARCH 19 FOR FINAL ROCKSLIDE REPAIRS
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY —Travelers will encounter a full overnight closure of Highway 41, from the Highway 41/46 interchange to Highway 33, from Thursday, March 19 at 8 pm to Friday, March 20 at 8 am.
A detour will be available using Hwy. 46 and Hwy. 33 which is expected to add one half hour of travel time.
During this overnight closure, crews are expected to complete the final phase of repairs in response to a rockslide which took place late December of last year. Crews will remove a 400 ft. concrete barrier and rock fence from its current location in lanes and move these to the shoulder to serve as an ongoing barrier to any future rockfall.
Crews will also remove temporary lane striping, reinstall the former permanent striping, and remove traffic control devices.
Message and directional signs will alert travelers in advance of the full closure.
