Long-Term Closure of Highway 1 On and Off-Ramps at State Park Dr. to Begin Monday, November 16

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – A project to construct north and southbound auxiliary lanes and bus-on-shoulder improvements on Highway 1 between the Bay Avenue/Porter Street and State Park Drive interchanges continues.

Beginning Monday, November 16 the Highway 1 southbound State Park Dr. offramp and Highway 1 northbound State Park Dr. on-ramp will be closed for approximately five months as crews reconstruct the ramps as part of the bus-on-shoulder facility.

Travelers heading northbound from State Park Dr. will follow a detour on State Park Dr. to Searidge Road to turn right onto McGregor Drive where they will use the northbound Highway 1 on-ramp at Park Ave. Travelers exiting southbound to State Park Dr. will continue southbound and exit at Rio Del Mar Blvd. Drivers can either turn left onto the northbound Rio Del Mar on ramp to northbound Hwy. 1 and exit at State Park off-ramp or turn left on Soquel Dr. to follow the detour back to State Park Dr.

Message and directional signs will alert travelers in advance of the areas under traffic control. Please allow for extra time for your travels through the area.
