San Gregorio Creek Bridge Project

San Gregorio Bridge Visualization
Public Meetings
Public meetings were held on February 25 and 26, 2025 to facilitate public feedback on design alternatives.
Project Description
Caltrans is proposing a seismic restoration of the San Gregorio Creek Bridge (Bridge Number 35-0030) on State Route 1 (also known as Cabrillo Highway or Highway 1) in unincorporated coastal San Mateo County, just south of State Route 84. The project limits are surrounded by San Gregorio State Beach. The existing bridge was built in 1941. Alternatives under consideration include retrofitting the existing bridge or replacing the existing bridge with a new bridge featuring pedestrian and bicycle facilities. No additional travel lanes are being proposed. Construction is anticipated to be completed in 2029.
