EUREKA — The Caltrans District 1 Social Fund and the Caltrans Transportation Foundation (CTF) are now accepting applications for the 2026 District 1 Transportation Scholarship. One $2,250 scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a career in transportation.

The scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis, with consideration given to the applicant’s commitment to a transportation-related career, academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular or community activities. Financial need may also be considered.

District 1 Social Fund Chair Cori Reed said the scholarship offers an opportunity to jumpstart a student’s future.

“We’re looking for students who want to make a real difference in the transportation field, whether that’s improving safety, protecting the environment or strengthening connections between our communities,” Reed said. “This scholarship is one way we can help students take that first step.”

Eligible applicants include high school seniors and college undergraduates who live in or are originally from Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake or Mendocino counties.

Applications must be submitted online by Friday, June 19.
