Caltrans District 1 2023 Scholarship Program Call for Applications

EUREKA — The Caltrans District 1 Social Fund and the Caltrans Transportation Foundation are offering one $2,250 scholarship to a student seeking a career in transportation.

This scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis to a high school senior or an undergraduate college student. The criteria for winning will be based on the applicant's commitment to a career in transportation, academic record and participation in extracurricular or community-related activities. Financial need will also be considered when determining the scholarship recipient.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a high school senior or undergraduate college student from or residing in Humboldt, Del Norte, Lake or Mendocino counties.
  • Must plan to pursue a career in transportation.
  • Must attend or be accepted to a post-secondary institute (such as a college, university or a vocational or technical school) in California.
  • Must provide an official transcript to verify Grade Point Average (GPA).
  • Must provide a description of participation in extra-curricular and/or community-related activities.

Letters of recommendation will be considered. Please note that students related to Caltrans employees may apply.

Applications must be submitted by Friday, May 26.
