Transportation Permits Training
Caltrans is responsible for issuing transportation permits for travel on the State Highway System (SHS). However, haulers may also need to obtain transportation permits to travel on local roadways. If oversize-overweight (OS/OW) permits are not issued safely, fatalities or serious injuries may occur due to high load hits, width restrictions and damage to the infrastructure.
As part of the State Highway Safety Plan (SHSP), Caltrans will provide training to familiarize the local cities and counties with our transportation permit issuance process in routing OS/OW loads and help answer any questions.
Please contact Devinder Sandhu to request training or information with regards to the Caltrans Transportation Permits Training and any questions.
