Caltrans Office of Race and Equity (CORE)
Overview
Welcome to the Caltrans Office of Race and Equity (CORE). Officially launched in August of 2020 under Planning and Modal Programs, CORE has been charged with advancing racial equity throughout the Department's internal and external operations. Further details about who we are, our history, our program, training materials, and contact information can be found in the page navigation to the right. As CORE continues to grow into 2021, more training resources and information will become available.
The CORE provides leadership, guidance, training, and support to all divisions, districts, and programs on equity efforts, working closely with the Office of Civil Rights as well as with our Administration, Human Resources, and Equal Employment Opportunity Programs to advance diversity and equity within our workforce. The CORE is led by Race & Equity Program Manager Amar Cid and reports to the Deputy Director for Planning and Modal Programs. Currently, CORE has three different branches: Priority Populations & Community Engagement, Native American Liaison Branch, and Training & Communications.
