Section 106 PA/PRC 5024 MOU Renewal

Thank you to everyone who provided comments on the draft Second Amended Section 106 Programmatic Agreement Among the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP), the California State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), and the California Department of Transportation Regarding Compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, As it pertains to the Administration of the Federal Aid Highway Program in California (106 PA) and the draft First Amended Memorandum of Understanding Between the California Department of Transportation and the California State Historic Preservation Officer Regarding Compliance with Public Resources Code 5024 and Governor's Executive Order W-26-92 (5024 MOU).

Caltrans has taken comments from tribes, local and federal agencies, preservation groups and other interested parties into account and developed revised drafts of the 106 PA and 5024 MOU for final signatory review.  

Section 106 PA (2014) and PRC 5024 MOU (2015) Extension

Caltrans is working with the signatories to finalize the PA and MOA renewal documents. In the interim, the signatories have extended the duration of the existing 106 PA and 5024 MOU to December 31, 2024, or until the renewed 106 PA and 5024 MOU documents are executed, whichever comes first.
