Erratum for the Electronic Updating of the Plans Preparation Manual

Chapter 2: Project Plans

Section 2-2.10 - Drainage Plans, Details, Profiles and Quantities

1. On Page 2-79, additional text has been included to include storm water treatment control information in drainage plans, profile, and quantity sheets.
2. On Page 2-80, additional information has been included to allow the use of decimal post mile information in drainage system numbering. Additional requirement added to include the use of full drainage system item names on both the plan and profile sheets.
3. On Page 2-82, old HDM reference topic and table information has been updated.
4. On Page 2-84, references to minor structure, Class 3 concrete have been removed.
5. Information under Pipe Culverts header has been modified. On Page 2-85, Topic references number for HDM, Standard Plan references have been updated.
6. On Page 2-87, Information under Concrete Drainage Inlets, Pipe Inlets and Risers has been modified along with information under Reinforced Concrete Box and Arch Culverts header to match the current standards.
7. Drainage Plan sheets checklist updated.

Section 2-2.14 - Construction Area Signs

1. On page 2-103, link pointing to Sign specification drawings has been updated.

1. On page 2-103 links pointing to California MUTCD and Sign specs have been updated.
2. On page 2-105 added additional information to help with presenting Construction Area Sign information and quantities in a table on Construction Area Sign sheets along with information on presenting Construction Area Sign information and quantities in a table for Detour plans, Stage Construction and Traffic Handling plans etc.

Chapter 2: Project Plans

Section 2-2.5 - Layouts, Profiles and Superelevation Diagrams

1. On pages 2-81 through 2-88 - Several minor changes have been made to the section’s text style and formatting.
2. Checklist for Layout Sheet:
   • On pages 2-89, 2-90 and 2-91, layout sheet checklist has been updated to include named levels with the old numbered levels shown in parenthesis.
3. Checklist for Profile Sheet:
   • On pages 2-93 and 2-94, profile sheet checklist has been updated to include named levels with the old numbered levels shown in parenthesis.
4. Checklist for Superelevation Diagram:
   • On page 2-96 Superelevation diagram checklist has been updated to include named levels with the old numbered levels shown in parenthesis.

Chapter 2: Project Plans

Section 2-2.3 - Typical Cross Sections

1. On pages 2-71 through 2-73 and 2-76 several changes to formatting and text styles have been made.
2. On pages 2-74 and 2-75 the Checklist for Typical Cross Sections has been updated to include named levels with the old numbered levels shown in parenthesis.

Chapter 2: Project Plans

Sections 2-2.1 and 2-2.2 – Project Plan Sheet Specific Data and Examples; Introduction and Title Sheets

1. On Page 2-57, text in Section 2-2.2, Title Sheets, referring to “Caltrans English CADD Cell Library” is now replaced with “Caltrans cell libraries for named levels or numbered levels”
2. On Pages 2-61 and 2-64, old web links pointing to California Log of bridges have been updated to the show the location of the new website.
3. On page 2-67, old links pointing to external websites and Old Caltrans resources that are no longer being updated have been replaced with external links to show the names of Incorporated Cities and town names along with an external link pointing to show a list of unincorporated community names in California.
4. On pages 2-83 through 2-85, the check list for Title sheets has been updated to include named levels with the old numbered levels shown in parenthesis.
5. Several minor changes to sheet formatting and document styles have been added.

Chapter 2: Project Plans

Section 2-2.22 -Landscape, Irrigation, and Planting Plans, Details, and Quantities

1. On page 2-252 (paragraph# 2) –Text has been added to provide guidelines for presenting information in the irrigation quantity tables.
2. On page 2-252 (paragraph# 4) - Text in the section has been modified to provide additional guidelines for showing irrigation quantities on the Irrigation Sprinkler Schedule sheet and for showing plant quantities on Plant Legend sheet.

Chapter 2: Project Plans

Section 2-2.23 Electrical Systems - Lump Sum Bid Item Tables

1. On page 2-266, text in the section has been modified to provide additional guidance when presenting information in the quantity table for items that are not separate bid items.
2. On page 2-269, text in the Checklist for Electrical Quantity Sheets is updated to include the above changes.

Section 2-2.14 Construction Area Signs

1. On Page 2-104, text has been modified to include guidance on presenting information in the plan sheets when Portable Construction Area Signs are used in a project.
