The California Transportation Foundation (CTF) is active on social media. Caltrans employees are invited to connect and view photos of fundraisers, thank you notes from scholarship recipients, and videos of the people, programs, projects and organizations that show excellence in transportation and more.

Since its founding, CTF has given out a total of $1 million in scholarship grants. Show your support and like, follow and subscribe to CTF on FacebookTwitter and YouTube.

Recently, CTF established the “Caltrans October Fire Victims Fund” to benefit Caltrans employees who suffered the loss of their homes, including renters who lost their possessions, as a result of the California October fires. Donations are tax deductible and help Caltrans employees recover from their loss. To donate go to www.transportationfoundation.org, click on the blue “donate now” button and indicate from the drop down menu that your donation is for the “Caltrans October Fire Victims Fund.”

CTF has also established the “Logan” Assistance Fund to help Robert Logan, District 1 Tree Maintenance Worker. Logan’s son, Wyatt, who has been diagnosed with brain cancer, is currently undergoing treatment in the Bay Area. To make a donation, go to www.transportationfoundation.org/donate.

The Foundation is also collecting donations for the family of Cornelius “CT” Turner, who was killed in a motorcycle collision Sept. 1 on his way home. If you wish to help his family during this difficult time by making a donation to the Turner Memorial Fund, you can go to CTF’s website at www.transportationfoundation.org/donate.

In addition to helping when the worst happens, CTF recognizing a job well done with service recognition pins, scholarships in memory of a loved one, and more. CTF would like to encourage students currently enrolled or accepted in a California graduate school to apply for the $5,000 CTF Graduate School Scholarship by April 2, 2018.  For more information and to download an application go to www.transportationfoundation.org/scholarships. Students must be studying in a transportation field.

Congratulations to the recent winner of the $1,000 CTF Partnered Caltrans-District 12 Scholarship, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo student Helen Oshrin. To read about other winners and scholarship programs available, visit CTF’s website.

Recognition is also important to CTF, which invites you to nominate your best programs, projects, people and organizations of 2017. The 29th Annual Transportation Awards celebrate transportation excellence from all areas of the state, public and private sector, and all modes. This year, a new category of emergency response/repair has been added. To nominate, download the nomination forms at https://transportationfoundation.org/transportation awards/ and submit your nominees by March 1, 2018. CTF plans to celebrate the winners at the CTF Transportation Awards Program on May 16, 2018, at the Hyatt Regency in Orange County.

Thank you for all your support and interest in CTF’s programs and events.
