I-15 Deceleration Lane in Corona
Interstate 15 Deceleration Lane City of Corona
RIVERSIDE COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is announcing a $6 million safety project to modify the Interstate 15 south-bound (SB I-15) to include a 12-foot deceleration lane north of Ontario Ave exit with a 10-foot standard shoulder in the City of Corona.
This section of SB I-15 experiences a number of traffic congestions related collisions, prompting the implementation of a safety improvement project. District 8 Director, Catalino A. Pining III says "At Caltrans, the safety of our community stands at the forefront of our mission. We genuinely care, and we are exhilarated to introduce a project that will extend its benefits to all." Upon being awarded, contractor crews will be working in the City of Corona to enhance safety measures north of Ontario Avenue to Old Temescal Road on SB I-15. This project is anticipating to begin construction in late 2026.
