Project Overview

SAN BERNARDINO – Caltrans will continue $1.5 million preventative maintenance work at eight bridges on Interstate 10 (I-10). This work is funded through Senate Bill (SB) 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.

Preventative maintenance will improve bridge road conditions and safety by strengthening the bridge travel way with new polyester concrete overlay, removing unsound concrete, installing sound concrete, replacing joint seals, upgrading approach concrete slabs, furnishing with new hot mix asphalt (HMA), placing construction area signs, and installing pavement markings along with new traffic stripes. These elements aim to enhance safe accessibility and produce a smoother surface for all roadway users.

Constructions signs have been placed in the project zone to make the traveling public aware of the work zone. The project is expected to be completed by Fall 2026. All work schedule and timelines are dependent on weather conditions and the availability of material.

What to Expect:

Motorists should expect weekly operations to occur in both eastbound and westbound directions on I-10 between Ontario and San Bernardino on Tuesday to Thursday from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and Friday to Saturday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Alternating lane, connector, ramp and shoulder closures may occur as needed.
