Overnight Closures of South Alameda St in Wilmington for Paving Work
LOS ANGELES ― Caltrans will continue overnight closures of south Alameda Street between George De La Torre Jr Avenue and Anaheim Street in Wilmington for paving work, tonight, August 25.
The work will take place from Monday night through Saturday morning, at 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. At least one lane in both directions of Alameda Street will remain open throughout the construction period.
All work on Alameda Street is expected to be completed by September 5. This paving effort is part of a broader series of improvements to local roads that will be used or impacted by detour traffic during the 16-month closure of the Vincent Thomas Bridge, scheduled to begin on November 1, 2026.
More information about the Vincent Thomas Bridge Deck Replacement Project is available at the project website. Skanska-CEC Joint Venture is the general contractor for the project.
Caltrans reminds drivers to anticipate delays in their commute and Slow for the Cone Zone.
