Project Overview
The Vineyard Avenue Pavement Project will replace more than 10 miles of pavement on State Route 232 (SR-232/Vineyard Avenue) from US 101 to State Route 118 (SR-118/Los Angeles Avenue) in Oxnard and the unincorporated Ventura County area of El Rio and provide other upgrades.
Construction Zone
The overall construction zone is between US 101 and State Route 118.
The travel lanes of northbound Vineyard Avenue between Simon Way and Juvenile Center were shifted to the left to create a work zone on the right side of the highway. Two lanes remain open in each direction, but traffic within the construction zone must turn left from the left travel lane.
Excavation, trenching and drainage work take place behind the k-rail between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. Surveying and curb and ramp work has been underway at times from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. with the right lane of traffic occasionally blocked.
When paving begins, all paving work will occur on weekdays overnight with at least one lane remaining open in each direction of travel on Vineyard Avenue. Paving will begin on Vineyard Avenue at US 101 and progress north to State Route 118. Work will then progress on southbound Vineyard Avenue between State Route 118 and US 101.
