Sign up form: SR-2 Pedestrian Improvements ProjectProject Overview
The project spans 11.5 miles of State Route 2 (SR-2) in the cities of Los Angeles, Glendale and La Cañada Flintridge. The pedestrian facilities at several locations are not in compliance with current Americans with Disabilities (ADA) requirements. This project will improve pedestrian accessibility within State right-of-way by constructing ADA-compliant curb ramps, continental crosswalks and relocating/upgrading Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) at the sidewalks for street crossings.
Benefits
The SR-2 Pedestrian Improvements Project will enhance pedestrian pathways and pedestrian infrastructure to make the path of travel accessible, comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and integrate Complete Street Elements. The project also adds safety measures, installing roadside signs and narrowing the traffic lanes by paving delineation, with aims of reducing traffic speed on Angeles Crest Highway (ACH) in La Cañada Flintridge. The total project cost is $14.7 million.
