About the Project

Caltrans is proposing to add complete streets features to the Hawthorne Blvd. Park and Ride (P&R) lot located on the corners of 111th and Hawthorne Blvd. to transform the space into a multimodal hub. A full project map can be explored here: Project Area Map

What is a Mobility hub? 

A mobility hub is intended to combine multiple modes into a shared hub and give members of the community and beyond opportunities to travel further without a private vehicle. Mobility hubs offer a safe, green, comfortable, community-oriented, convenient, and accessible space to transfer from one type of transportation to another.

Potential Features

This project is in the early phases of development, some examples of features being considered are included below:

 

  • Connecting Bike Lanes
  • Bike Lockers
  • Real-time transit information
  • Electric Vehicle Charging
  • Parklets (tables and benches)
  • Trash Receptacles
  • Better lighting
  • Security Cameras
  • Better signs for transit stops
  • Crosswalk improvements
  • Bike stations
  • Greenery
  • Improvements to curb ramps and crossings 

Public Engagement Opportunities

Caltrans values your input! The public will have multiple avenues to provide feedback on this project and leave recommendations and suggestions for improvement. This helps the project team learn more about the community, a survey has been developed to gather information and feedback from interested individuals. The survey will be available in both English and Spanish.

The project team will also be hosting in person tabling at the project location to provide an opportunity to answer questions or hear ideas from the community. If you are interested, please visit the project location at 11199 Larch Ave, Lennox, CA on the times and dates listed below.
