Q1) In the plans it show we are to provide Laminated Wood Box Posts, is there a vendors list available for approved vendors who provide LWB posts?
A1) There is no vendors list available for approved vendors.
Q2) Will we be allowed to trench over the top of the canal that runs under the roadway? Per Plans E-2:-Radar Speed Feedback Sign Systems; of project notes trenching over the top of Pleasant Valley Canal. (We have seen in the past where the minimum distance between canals and electrical must have a buffer 5’-10’ < greater per the owner of the canal/aqua duct.)?
A2) Bid it per current contract documents.
Q3) Will directional boring for the majority of the project and under the road way be acceptable for 3” conduit listed under E-3 Extinguishable Message Signs Systems?
A3) Yes. Refer to 87-1.03B(3)(b) Conduit Installation under Paved Surfaces and 87-1.03B(4) Conduit Installation by Horizontal Directional Drilling Method.
Q4) Would Caltrans consider providing the LWBP for installation?
A4) The Department will furnish the laminated wood box posts per 82-3.02D.
