What’s going to happen with the bike/ped path with this project?

Caltrans is considering raising the path to meet the demands sea-level rise. The path will remain an important area for non-motorized forms of transportation in this area of Marin County. All the preliminary alternatives include the bike/ped path. The path is depicted between US 101 and Richardson Bay. None of the options show the path going through Marin City.

What’s going to happen to the Manzanita Park and Ride?

Caltrans is considering raising the park and ride lot and/or moving it to another area within the project limits and/or to the US 101/State Route 131 interchange. The park and ride will not be relocated to Marin City after Caltrans received community input.

How will Caltrans address environmental and water quality concerns with this project?

Those issues will be addressed during the environmental phase of the project.

Will there be more public meetings with this project?

Yes, Caltrans will ask for more public input during the environmental stage.

What is the plan to address the flooding on State Route 1 north of this project?

Flooding north of this project was not included in this project. However, it can be looked at in the next phase. In addition, Caltrans has an adaptation study along US 101 that may also look at flooding along the portion of SR-1 north of this project.
