Caltrans Begins Slide Repair Project on State Route 128 in Sonoma County

 

Update - August 22, 2025: This project was scheduled to begin in late August 2025 but has been postponed because a pavement repair project would be ongoing on the same portion of Route 128 simultaneously. Check back on this page to receive updates. 

 

Caltrans will begin a landslide repair project on State Route 129 (SR-128) between Krek Road and Knight Ridge Lane in Sonoma County, a sparsely populated, mountainous area along the Maacama Creek, halfway between Geyserville and Calistoga.

 

Terracon Constructors Inc. is the contractor on the $1.9 million project.

Caltrans will implement one-way traffic control in the latter part of August to provide room to build a retaining wall. The traffic control will be in place for until mid-February 2026
