Lane, Ramp Closures Scheduled Nightly on US-101 for Capital Preventive Maintenance Project in Marin County

US 101 Capital Preventative Maintenance Project in Marin County Project Map, from the Wornum Creek Undercrossing to the Miller Creek Bridge.

Marin County — Caltrans will continue its Capital Preventive Maintenance project along US-101 in October for paving as well as temporary and permanent pavement striping.

Various northbound and southbound lanes will be closed on Northbound and Southbound US-101 from Monday, Oct. 5 through the morning of Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. the next mornings.

The following ramps are scheduled to be closed during the week:

  • Northbound US-101 on-ramp from Redwood Highway, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Northbound US-101 on-ramp from Manuel T. Freitas Parkway: 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Northbound US-101 on-ramp from Smith Ranch Road, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Northbound US-101 on-ramp to Lucas Valley Road, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Northbound US-101 on-ramp to Lincoln/Villa Ave. 8 p.m. to midnight.
  • Northbound US-101 on-ramp to Industrial Way, 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Northbound US-101 off-ramp to 2nd Street/Central San Rafael from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Detour for Northbound US-101 on-ramp to Redwood Highway

  • From Southbound Redwood, continue southeast on to Redwood Frontage Road
  • Turn right on to Manuel T. Freitas Parkway
  • Turn right on to Las Gallinas Avenue
  • Turn right on to Lucas Valley Road
  • Take Northbound US-101 on-ramp at Smith Ranch Road
  • From Northbound Redwood Highway, continue on to Redwood Frontage Road
  • Turn left on to Smith Ranch Road
  • Merge on to Northbound US-101 at Smith Ranch Road

Detour for Northbound on-ramp loop from Manuel T. Freitas Parkway

  • Turn right on to Civic Center Drive
  • Turn right on to N. San Pedro Road
  • Turn right on to Northbound US-101

Detour for Northbound US-101 on-ramp to Smith Ranch Road

  • Continue on to Smith Ranch Road
  • Smith Ranch Road becomes Lucas Valley Road
  • Turn right on to Las Gallinas Avenue
  • Turn right on to Miller Creek Road
  • Turn left to Northbound US-101 on-ramp at Miller Creek Road

Detour for Northbound US-101 on-ramp loop from Lucas Valley Road

  • Head southeast on Lucas Valley Road
  • Continue on to Smith Ranch Road
  • Turn right on to Redwood Highway
  • Turn right to merge on to Northbound US-101

Detour for Northbound US-101 on-ramp from Lincoln Avenue

  • From the south, continue south on to Lincoln Avenue
  • Turn left on to Mission Avenue
  • Merge on to Northbound US-101
  • From the north, continue north on to Lincoln Avenue
  • Turn right on to N. San Pedro Road
  • Turn left on to Northbound US-101

Detour for Northbound US-101 on-ramp from Redwood

  • From Southbound Redwood Way, head south on Redwood toward Industrial Way
  • Continue on to Tamalpais Drive
  • Turn right to merge on to Northbound US-101 from Northbound Redwood
  • Head north on to Redwood Highway and turn right on to Rich Street
  • Head south on Redwood toward Industrial
  • Continue on to Tamalpais Drive
  • Turn right to merge on to Northbound US-101
