All Northbound Lanes Repaved between Cesar Chavez St. to 17th St.
San Francisco County — All lanes are now reopened following the successful completion of the repaving work on the northbound U.S. 101 Bayshore Freeway (Hospital Curve) between Cesar Chavez and 17th St., which began Friday, September 18, at 11 pm. All northbound and southbound lanes were reopened at approximately 9:53 p.m. close to 9 hours ahead of the expected reopening time.
With the completion of this weekend's wok and the previous Labor Day weekend work, all northbound lanes have been successfully repaved. Caltrans will return on October 16, to start repaving the southbound lanes.
**Upcoming Weekend Closure Details:
October 16-18 (Third Closure)
The full highway closure will begin on Friday, October 16 at 11 p.m., when all southbound lanes between Cesar Chavez and 17th Street will close. All lanes will reopen by Monday, October 18 at 6 a.m.
During this period:
- All northbound lanes will remain open for public travel.
- Motorists should avoid driving southbound 101 (Hospital Curve) due to anticipated delays.
- Use SB I-280 as an alternate route.
**Plans for an October 2-5 weekend closure, has been rescheduled for a future date to be announced.
