One lane closes on Shiloh Rd and Limerick Lane on Monday, May 19, 2025
Part of a larger project also includes Mendocino Avenue and Fulton Road overcrossings
Windsor – Caltrans will close the eastbound lane on the Hwy 101/Shiloh Road overcrossing and the Limerick Lane overcrossing at 6:00 p.m. on the evening of Monday, May 19, 2025, to replace bridge railings on the overcrossings.
The eastbound lane on the Shiloh Road overpass in Windsor will be closed until mid-October 2025. Westbound traffic will not be detoured during the project.
The eastbound lane on the Limerick Lane overpass just south of Healdsburg will be closed until mid-summer, at which time the lane will reopen, and the westbound lane will close as Caltrans shifts work to the north side of the overcrossing until mid-October.
The railings, which also act as guardrails on the sides of the overpasses, are worn by time and weather, as well as deficient according to current safety standards, and must be replaced.
The overpasses carry one traffic lane in each direction and lack shoulders, forcing Caltrans to close one lane to provide sufficient room for construction crews to replace the railings.
The lane closures on the Shiloh Road and Limerick Lane overcrossings are part of a larger project to replace bridge railing at Hwy 101 in Sonoma County. Last week, Caltrans closed the eastbound lane on the Mendocino Overcrossing in Santa Rosa and the southbound lane of Fulton Road at the Hwy 101 overcrossing.
Detours
Eastbound Shiloh Road
- Take southbound Hwy 101,
- Exit onto eastbound Airport Boulevard, and drive over the freeway
- Take the northbound Hwy 101 on ramp to Shiloh Road.
Eastbound Limerick Lane
- South on Old Redwood Highway
- Left on Arata Lane
- Left on Los Amigos to Limerick Lane
During the project, work crews will replace the existing banister and tubular bridge railings with a concrete barrier, topped with decorative lattice for visual appeal.
The concrete barriers can withstand greater impacts during collisions and are much easier to maintain and sweep beneath.
