San Mateo County ― Caltrans has scheduled overnight ramp closures in the southbound direction on U.S. 101 onto State Route 92 in both directions in Foster City starting on Monday, April 28 at 8 p.m. The ramps will be closed intermittently every night until Thursday, May 1 at 5 a.m. Crews will be constructing temporary barricades and performing striping work on the ramps. The work is part of the U.S. 101/SR-92 Interchange Short Term Area Improvements Project.
There will be three detours in place at various times during this nightly work to keep crews safe:
Detour 1: Southbound 101 to Eastbound 92:
Motorists should take the off-ramp to Eastbound Fashion Island Blvd, then take a right turn onto Mariners Island Blvd, and then take the Eastbound on-ramp to State Route 92.
Detour 2: Southbound 101 to Fashion Island Blvd:
Motorists are advised to take the off-ramp to Eastbound SR-92 and turn right onto Edgewater Blvd. Then they will turn left onto Northbound Mariners Island Blvd to Fashion Island Blvd.
Detour 3: Southbound 101 to Westbound SR-92:
Motorists are encouraged to take the off-ramp to Fashion Island Blvd. and then turn right onto Westbound on 19th Ave. From there, they will take a right turn onto South Grant St. and then a left turn onto Westbound Concar Dr to enter Westbound SR-92.
All work is weather dependent. Please drive with caution. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience with the work to maintain our state’s highways, bridges, and tunnels.
