I-80 Contra Costa Paving Project: Various Lane Closures on I-80 in Hercules due to road work starting late December to early January 2024

Published:

Contra Costa County – Caltrans is scheduled to close various lanes both in eastbound and westbound direction on Interstate 80 (I-80) near Hercules starting late December and into early January 2024.

Crews will be continuing to work on building a concrete barrier near State Route 4, adding rumble strips on the shoulders and permanent striping along the I-80 corridor between Pomona Street in Crockett and Willow Avenue in Hercules.

Earlier this week, crews were able to complete temporary striping on I-80 between Pomona Street in Crockett and Willow Avenues in Hercules.

To ensure the safety of workers and motorists, Caltrans will be closing various lanes overnight to complete the road work. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds and be alert while the work is underway.

One traffic direction on I-80 will be worked on at a time. Detours will be in effect. All work is weather dependent.
