Curve Realignment on SR 174 in Nevada County

Project Facts


The project proposes to realign several curves, widen shoulders, add a left-turn lane at Greenhorn Access Rd, and improve the Clear Recovery Zone (CRZ) on State Route (SR) 174 from post mile PM 2.7 to PM 4.6 in Nevada County, California.

Project Benefits

The purpose of this project is to improve safety and operations for all users, including bicyclists, and pedestrians. This project proposes to help reduce the number and severity of collisions within this segment of SR 174.

Caltrans has been invited to present a project update to the Nevada County Board of Supervisors at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 24 at their chambers in the Eric Rood Administrative Center at 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City. Information about how the project’s scope has been modified to address community concerns will be included in the presentation. A future evening public meeting is also planned.
