A contractor will be closing the connector ramps from westbound I-80 to northbound and southbound I-5 and the southbound Truxel Road on-ramp to westbound I-80, around the clock starting 10 p.m. Friday, October 11.

  • Westbound I-80 to northbound I-5 connector ramp will reopen 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.

  • Westbound I-80 to southbound I-5 connector ramp will reopen 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14.

  • Southbound Truxel Road on-ramp to westbound I-80 will reopen 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14.

DETOURS:

  • From West I-80 to I-5 Connector, continue WB I-80 to West El Camino Ave, (Exit 85) or Reed Ave, (Exit 83) back on EB 80 to I-5.

  • From SB Truxel to WB I-80, continue SB Truxel to San Juan intersection, make a U-turn onto NB Truxel, use West I-80 to San Francisco on-ramp.

Caltrans advises motorists to plan for these delays and allow additional travel time. The California Highway Patrol will be at the work sites for traffic enforcement. The following detours are recommended.

This project is to preserve and extend the life of existing pavement and improve ride quality. Weather or unexpected events may delay or prolong the work. Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert.” The department will issue construction updates on Twitter
