Townhill Brake Check

The Project:

The Townhill Brake Check project, in Lassen County on State Route 36, will expand the existing truck brake check parking area located 2 miles west of Susanville.

Project Benefits:

This project will benefit trucking safety along State Route 36 by expanding the parking area, allowing for easier movement for larger vehicles. The project also includes improved safety lighting that will improve visibility, new striping and pavement repairs for a smoother driving experience.

Project Includes:

Expanding the existing truck brake parking area, improved safety lighting, new striping, and pavement repairs.

Current Project Schedule:

It is estimated this project will take 45 workings days, with 15 requiring traffic control. Construction is scheduled to occur between mid-April and early June 2022. The parking area will be closed during construction.
