Marker Placement Project in Butte, Lassen, Modoc, and Shasta Counties

Caltrans District 2, in conjunction with Central Striping Inc., is set to begin work on the HM 4 Markers Project. 

The $252,000 project will remove and replace retroreflective recessed pavement markers at the following locations:

  • On U.S. 395 in Lassen County from just north of the junction with State Route 70 to just south of Doyle, from south of Ramhorn Road to Termo Grasshopper Road, and from just south of Ash Valley Road to near the Lassen/Modoc County line. 
  • On U.S. 395 in Modoc County from near the Lassen/Modoc County line to approximately 2 miles south of Alturas. 
  • On State Route 44 in Shasta County from approximately 2.5 miles east of Viola to approximately 2 miles west of the junction with State Route 89 near Lassen Volcanic National Park and from approximately 1 mile east of Eskimo Hill Summit to near Old Station. 
  • On State Route 70 in Butte County from just west of Concow Road to approximately 2 miles east of Cresta.

Construction activities are tentatively planned to start on August 16 at the U.S. 395 location in Modoc County. Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 16-minute delays, Monday through Friday during daytime and nighttime hours. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by the end of this year.
